Thanks to the Simcoe Lions Club

Thank you to Simcoe Lions Club, for their generous $300 donation to the Fresh Air Fund, delivered by President, Keith Ashley.  Through support of local clubs, such as the Simcoe Lions Club, 143 local children attended camp or recreational activities this past year.

Thanks to Paul and Danielle Glass

Paul and Danielle Glass generously donated $1000 to the Dustin Glass Memorial Fund this year.  Shown here is Paul Glass and Bernadette Gallagher, Executive Director, accepting the donation.  Paul Glass and his family established the Dustin Glass Memorial Bursary to honour Dustin’s memory in 2009, following the loss of their son/brother.  This bursary is awarded to youth in care who have successfully obtained their high school diploma, while living on independence.  The fund is supported through generous donations by Dustin’s family and Society staff members.  Since this fund was established, 29 graduates have been assisted through this bursary.  Bursaries will be awarded at the Annual General Meeting on June 14th.

Thanks to the Fisherville Lions Club

The Fisherville Lions Club hosted a Karaoke Coat Drive during March Break.    The community was invited to come out and enjoy an inexpensive family night of great entertainment as well test their own skills at singing.  The community was asked to drop off any gently used winter coats, snows pants or snow suits, which in turn were offer back to the community and schools to any child  that may be in need.

Shown in the picture are the remaining coats that were not spoken for.  They were donated to the Children’s Aid Society of Haldimand and Norfolk. In front of the rack of coats, holding a cheque in the amount of $513.00 to the Fresh Air Fund is Doug Maxwell, singer and Lion’s member, Brenda Hunt of the CAS, Cheryl Fess-Clause, Child and Youth Activities Chair and Andy Palmer, Lion Chief/President.

Doug Maxwell’s singing skills raised $200.00, and Karaoke Coat Drive raised $113.00  and the Lions Club of Fisherville  matched the donation of $200.00.

Thank you for your generosity!!
