Changes to Age of Protection: Introducing New Services for 16-17 Year Old Youth

On January 1, 2018 Ontario increased the age of protection to include all children under the age of 18 years. This means that 16 and 17 year olds who are in need of protection will be eligible for the full range of child protection services, giving them a better opportunity to get the support they need and have better outcomes as they transition to adulthood.

This also means that if you suspect that a 16 or 17 year old is being abused or neglected, you may report this to a Children’s Aid Society and your concerns will be addressed.

Christmas Wishes Coming True!

A BIG THANK YOU to Aitken Chevrolet Buick GMC in Simcoe and myFM Radio 98.9 for once again organizing this amazing campaign and delivering over 250 gifts to the Children’s Aid Society of Haldimand and Norfolk! Gifts are donated by community members and distributed to local children and families in need. This generous community support is overwhelming. THANK YOU to all who joined in the spirit of giving, bringing smiles to many children’s faces this holiday season.

Thanks to the Lynn Valley Lions Club

The Lynn Valley Lions Club of Simcoe made a wonderful donation of $500.00 to our Fosters Children’s Holiday Party, which will be held early December.  Shown in the photo from left to right is Bernie Gallagher, Executive Director of the CASHN and Pat Jarrett from the Lions Club.  Thank you for helping to make our holiday party a success again this year.
