Thank you Community Living Haldimand

Community Living Haldimand, located in Cayuga provides individualized support to those with mental health issues and teaches them life skills, budgeting and social skills. Through support and advocacy, they are responsible for assuring that individuals with intellectual disabilities are treated with dignity and respect.

They have also extended their altruism by offering support to families in the community. Heather Putt from Community Living contacted the Children’s Aid Society of Haldimand and Norfolk seeking a family in need to sponsor at Christmas.

Once a family and their needs were identified, the response from Community Living and its staff was nothing short of spectacular and heart warming.

Ms. Putt reported that she was overwhelmed with the response of staff, “It has been remarkable. We have collected about three pick up truck loads worth of clothes, toys, food, beds and bedding.”

The Children’s Aid Society of Haldimand and Norfolk wishes to express our thanks to Community Living for the remarkable work they do and the generosity they have displayed.

Community Minded Brokers Minding the Community

The Society would like to thank McKiee & Farrar, Gair and Tri-County Insurance for contributing $1,000.00 to the Fresh Air Fund which helps children and youth in the community attend camp and participate in recreational activities.

Motivated by their own slogan, “community-minded brokers minding the community,” McKiee & Farrar, Gair & Tri-County Insurance started a new and unique program in January, 2009. The company decided to allocate a portion of their budget to help community groups by donating $1,000.00 to a different recipient once a month from January 2009 to January, 2010. The Fresh Air Fund was selected as the November recipient.

The Simcoe Chamber of Commerce also recognized the valuable contributions of the Insurers by bestowing them with the 2009 Outstanding Community Service Award on November 4, 2009.

Thank you McKiee & Farrar, Gair and Tri-County Insurance, for joining a community that nurtures the lives and dreams of children.

If you would like to make a donation to the Fresh Air Fund please call 519-587-5437 or 1-888-227-5437.

CAS Angel Tree in Walmart Simcoe

The Children’s Aid Society of Haldimand and Norfolk is working hard to improve the lives and dreams of children and youth in our communities this Christmas and throughout the year.

Through a new partnership with Walmart we have created the Little Dreams, Big Dreams Angel Tree program which would provide Christmas gifts to children and youth in care as well as disadvantaged children and youth in our communities.

As a result of this program and others offered by the Society, you can belong to a community that cares about the well-being of children.

Helping is easy. Just visit the Walmart store in Simcoe, take a tag from the Angel Tree inside the front entrance and purchase a gift in the store.

Please contact us if you wish to help out children or families this Christmas or year round at 1-888-227-5437 or locally at 519-587-5437.
