A “Little Dreams, Big Dreams” charity golf tournament was held Friday, July 6th at the Greens at Renton golf course. Bob Yin of Waterford approached the Society with a desire to raise money to help children in the community. He organized the entire event, with prizes including a chance to win a $10,000 hole in one and a 2012 Ford vehicle hole in one. A little over $5,000 was raised for the Fresh Air Fund (which helps send local kids to camp or participate in recreational activities) and the Endowment Fund (which helps youth beyond age 21 attend post-secondary school). The Scotiabank has matched the amount for a total of $10,000, making this event a huge success! Thanks to Bob Yin, Scotiabank and all sponsors, donors and volunteers.
